Capoeirista Barrista is a film that will be directed by Abbéy Odunlami. Based on the movie's site, it appears that filming has not started yet because they are underfunded. Set in "Little Rio", a fictitious part of Anytown, USA, the film tells the stories of six of the district's residents. Mestre Zumbi of Capoeira Senzala plays "The Capoeirista". Capoeirista Barrista, is a 2009 Independent film, written and slated to be directed by filmmaker Abbéy Odunlami, and staring Zumbi Dutra, Julian Gant, Joshua Granger, J Kim Welch, and Yunuen OSeguera-Pardo. It interweaves six separate yet connected storylines, about the interactions among several people during three days in a neighborhood known as "Little Rio" in an unidentified American City.
The film tells the story of finding redemption in a world that doesn't forget. An immigrant populated town, in the heart of a foredoomed city will be bewildered over it's last days, as the drug lord, who runs the town begins to crack when deliberates his raise to power while in a territorial war, a new immigrant in town in search of his last known family member is mistaken for an opposing gang member and a reformed whore tries to blend back into a life she once sought to run from, all in this blend of Capoerista Barrista.
